Matt Damon
loves being friends with George Clooney – because the Hollywood hunk is an “amazingly generous” person.

Damon — who became pals with Clooney when they starred in the 2001 film Ocean’s 11 — says the actor has always preferred to give than receive.

“George has this beautiful place in Italy where he brings all of his friends and he’s an amazingly generous person,” Damon told Parade mag.

“As a friend of George, what you really need to do is try and stay on his list because he’s got an incredible life that he shares with all his friends.”

Matt also mocked his friend’s gambling abilities.

“George is a loser,” Damon said. “We were in Vegas and he was like, ‘I have never won anything in my life gambling.’ I said, ‘I know how to play. I’ll show you. Don’t worry about it.’

“Then, he lost 25 straight blackjack hands in a row, which I think is a record. I would never have believed it unless I saw it happen.

“Afterward, he slipped a checl under my hotel room door for $2,500 that said, ‘For services rendered,’ but it wasn’t signed, so I couldn’t cash it.”
