Shakira is about to get ugly!
The Hips Don’t Lie singer is set to guest star on the smash hit TV show Ugly Betty, it was announced Wednesday.
“We’re huge fans of Shakira,” said the show’s creator, Silvio Horta. “We had a very memorable moment in the third episode where Betty has a makeover that goes wrong and she struts down the street to Hips Don’t Lie.
“We’ve mentioned her several times over the course of the series and have always wanted to work with her. She’s an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit.”
Shakira will play herself in an episode titled The Bahamas Triangle, which sees the star help a Mode photo shoot get back on track when the magazine is on location in the Bahamas.
Despite agreeing to appear on the program, Shakira recently revealed she’s a “terrible” actress.
“I acted once — years ago,” she said in August. “I was such a terrible actress, so I stopped. I’m always making up excuses not to take up any roles that I’m being offered.
“I don’t know. I am very unsure about my skills as an actress so I don’t know.”
